Vector 10

An exciting new development

The Vector 10 is unmistakably recognized by her modern and futuristic clean lines, eye catching and crisp design that sets her apart from other yachts. The result is extraordinary performance without unduly compromising comfort or practicality.

Purpose and Use

The Vector 10 is both a comfortable family cruiser and an exhilarating racer.

The modern hull lines with powerful chines give the boat ease of handling and a light feeling. The stylish cockpit and the deck layout is clean and uncluttered and the modern design of the cabin gives her a sleek look. The high stability makes the Vector 10 easy to handle for cruising families or small Crews and will be exhilarating for crews on race courses.

Hull Design

Special attention has been paid to the design and construction of modern hull lines with orientation on state of the art racing yachts. Her powerful wide transom, the chined Hull and her T shaped keel give the Vector 10 great stability which ensures comfortable fast sailing.

As all Vector Yachts will,  the V10 offers a full epoxy – foam – sandwich hull build in vacuum infusion for light weight, increased rigidity and high durability. This also ensures great value stability. The Vector 10 can be raced competitive under both IRC and ORC.

Deck Design

Deck and cockpit have been designed to comfortably accommodate plenty of crew and give room for fast manoeuvres. Large lockers in the cockpit floor offer plenty of storage space and flip up platforms in the hatch cover ensure perfect control for the helmsmen in all conditions and heeling angles.

The Vector 10 is equipped with a double wheel steering system that give great overview and  makes the whole cockpit easily accessible for the helmsmen. Single wheel or tiller constructions are available upon request. The Traveller is flushed into the cockpit floor and the self-tailing jib sheet winches are ergonomically installed on the coaming.

On both sides of the companionway, the halyards and control lines are operated by self-tailing winches and held by rope jammers. The halyards and control lines are deck recessed. To ensure optimum ventilation below deck, all the flushed coach roof hatches are openable, as well as the hatches facing the cockpit from the aft cabins.

Stainless steel handrails on the coach roof offer safety and provide a good hold at all times. The anchor box can hold a suitable anchor, 5-10 m of chain plus up to 50m anchor warp.

Mast and Rig

The Vector 10 is powered by a 9/10 keel stepped aluminium mast with 2 spreader pairs, tapered Masthead, stainless steel “Dyform” shrouds and an alloy boom. It will be equipped with a non-overlapping headsail set up which makes handling easier for the cruising oriented sailor. Furthermore, this sail plan seems to give the best performance in today’s rating system as IRC or IMS/ORC rating. The lack of an overlapping headsail is compensated in the sail plan and the optional Code 0 is planned as a light wind turbo.

The main sheet is available as German Cupper System on 2 additional winches on the coaming or as block system with raw (6:1) and fine(18:1) trim. An under deck furling system is another support for cruising oriented crews, and the dynema main and jib halyards will satisfy regatta sailors needs.

Interior Design

The Vector 10 offers the interior layout of a much bigger Yacht. The composite interior is durable, light and bright. Three double cabins can comfortably accommodate 6 Persons, additionally  the large salon benches always offer an extra bed for guests or larger crews.

Additionally, the V10 offers a large main cabin with L-shaped galley, plenty of room for cookery, pots and pans as well as a navigation station, with a fold-away navigator’s seat and room for navigational and electronic equipment.

The interior design of the Vector 10 reflects modern simplicity and has accents that resemble the interior of a luxury private jet. Thanks to the large side windows and the 6 openable flush hatches in the cabin roof, the V10 interior offers plenty of daylight and great ventilation.

The complete interior design has been focused on creating an atmosphere of space and light. Two interior options will be available, a classic interior with wooden doors, cupboards and highlights which will be called “Club interior,” and a light sporty interior called “Race interior,”  which features cloth doors and storage covers.

Engine and Electric

Due to its light weight and excellent weight-performance-ratio, the Vector 10 is equipped with a 16HP, 2 cylinder Sail-Drive diesel engine which will be housed in an sound-insulated engine compartment. An engine with 27 HP, 3 cylinders or electrical engine will be optional.

AGM  batteries, automatic fuses, electric panel with Voltmeter as well as direct and indirect lighting will be part of the comprehensive electrical specification.
